Education and Health in Crisis: Vital Sectors Under Fire

 Education Sector

In Gaza:

• 625,000 children were deprived of an entire academic year.
   
• 93% of schools in the Gaza Strip were damaged, with 84.6% requiring complete reconstruction.
   
• 39,000 students were unable to sit for their high school final exams.
   

In Lebanon:

• Over 70 schools were closed due to Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon, affecting the education of more than 20,000 children, according to UNICEF.
   
• 40% of schools were used as shelters for displaced families following Israeli assaults in November 2024.
   

 Water Crisis

In Palestine:

• Israeli occupation forces seized control of water resources in the Palestinian territories, depriving residents of access.
   
• Israeli strikes targeted desalination plants, water tanks, and distribution networks, deepening the humanitarian crisis.
   

In Lebanon:

• Israeli airstrikes hit major water infrastructure projects in southern Lebanon.

In Palestine:

In Lebanon:

• According to the World Health Organization, Israeli attacks—especially in the south during September 2024—led to the closure of 100 out of 207 healthcare centers.
